Jimy Valenti
Jimy Valenti was born in 1986 and raised near Albany, New York. He moved to Colorado after high school, where he chased powder, shows at Red Rocks, and mountain sunsets. Since then, he earned a journalism, then law degree from CU Boulder and moved to Colorado’s San Luis Valley in 2015 to work as a criminal defense attorney for the Colorado Public Defender’s Office. In 2022, Jimy completed the Denver-based Lighthouse Writers Workshop’s Book Project under the mentorship of crime writer Benjamin Whitmer. It’s there where his writing took off. The Big Dirty is his first novel.
He lives with his wife, dogs, and horses in Alamosa, Colorado, where he spends most of his free time grinding out miles on his mountain bike or praying for snow at Wolf Creek. Right now, he’s probably listening to a dead tape and reading Dennis Johnson.
